Kent media company Beeping Bush Productions is bringing the sound of laughter back again to the British seaside with the return of its exciting comedy shorts competition.
The aim of the competition is to seek out new and rising talent amongst filmmakers, writers and comedians, and to help them forge successful comedic film partnerships. This is the opportunity to get work seen by industry professionals, a cinema audience, and highly audience-targeted satellite and broadband channels executives.
“The idea is to give people the opportunity to show, to a live audience, a video of their own comic ideas, made over a weekend with a bunch of mates” says Mick Etherton, Competition Co-Director
The organisers are looking for films or sketches, stand-up or improvisation routines, of no more than 5 minutes in length, which will be judged by a carefully selected panel of industry professionals.
The best will be screened at the Awards Screenings on Saturday 4th April, 2009, at the Theatre Royal Margate.
Filmmakers, comedians and writers are invited to access the full brief from here. Entry is free. Entrants may take time to develop their script but the actual shoot and edit must take no more than 48hrs.
